Insomniac Games, developers of Marvel's Spider-Man, have announced that their next superhero title, Marvel's Wolverine, will be released on PlayStation 5 (PS5) on September 15th. The developer initially revealed plans for a Wolverine game in 2021, marking a significant anticipation build-up since then. Sony initially provided a vague fall 2026 release window last year, accompanied by a graphic gameplay trailer depicting intense, violent action.
According to the game's PlayStation Store listing, "In this original story, Wolverine is on the hunt to uncover secrets of his dark past that have continued to evade him." The narrative will take players through various locations, including the island nation of Madripoor, the frosty Canadian wilderness, and the bustling city streets of Tokyo - all potentially volatile battlefields for fierce, bloody, and destructive action.
Beyond Marvel's Wolverine, Sony is also publishing Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a fighting game set to launch on August 6th this year.
