Last August, a jury found Tesla liable for one-third of the blame in the fatal crash that took Naibel Benavides' life and critically injured Dillon Angulo in Florida. The jury assigned two-thirds of the blame to the driver and assessed punitive damages solely against Tesla. In its appeal, Tesla's legal team argued that the driver was primarily at fault for causing the crash.
