Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPads and ThinkBook for MWC 2026

Lenovo has announced five new models within its ThinkPad lineup and a refreshed ThinkBook laptop for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026. The devices are expected to hit the market in the second quarter of 2026, with some launching later that year.

X13 Detachable: A Return to Form

Standing out among the new releases is the X13 Detachable. This device, which hasn't seen major updates since its X12 Detachable predecessor years ago, now boasts a refreshed design and enhanced capabilities. The keyboard cover has been redesigned with full-size keycaps that offer 1.5mm of travel, providing a more traditional ThinkPad feel.

Upgrades Across the Range

The new lineup includes various models across the T-series and ThinkBook families:

- **ThinkPad T14S Gen 7** ($1,899) - The lightest in its series at just under 2.43 pounds (1.1kg).

- **ThinkPad T14S 2-in-1 Gen 2** ($1,849)

- **ThinkPad T16 Gen 5** ($1,799)

- **ThinkPad T14 Gen 7** ($1,799)

- **ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 6** ($1,754)

These devices are equipped with the latest Intel and AMD chips, including Panther Lake for Intel and Gorgon Point for AMD. Lenovo has also introduced user-replaceable batteries for improved serviceability.

Innovative Features and Design Enhancements

The X13 Detachable features a 13-inch touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 120Hz variable refresh rate, while the T-series models benefit from smaller bezels around their screens. Additionally, Lenovo has opted for LPCAMM2 RAM on Intel versions of these laptops, which should offer better power efficiency without compromising upgradeability or ease of repair.

The new T14S model introduces Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors as options, making it a versatile choice for those seeking alternative architecture. This model also offers the most flexibility in configuration with support for Intel Panther Lake, AMD Gorgon Point, and Snapdragon processors.

Operating System Flexibility

All these new laptops ship pre-installed with Windows 11, but select models will also be offered with Linux in certain regions, making them accessible to a broader audience. The ThinkPad T14S (excluding the Qualcomm-based variant) runs on Arm architecture, ensuring compatibility with both operating systems.

Launch Timeline

The majority of these devices are set for release in the second quarter of 2026. However, the X13 Detachable is scheduled to launch later, targeting the third quarter of 2026.
