Qualcomm has unveiled its latest wearable technology chip, the Snapdragon Wear Elite. The company positions it as a "wrist plus" solution—neither superseding nor entirely replacing its predecessor, the W5 Plus.

Features and Improvements of the Snapdragon Wear Elite

Equipped with an advanced 3nm process, the new chip integrates eNPU for low-power AI processing tasks like keyword recognition and activity detection. The Hexagon NPU handles more complex computations, managing up to two billion parameters on-device and over ten tokens per second.

Enhanced Power Efficiency and Battery Life

Qualcomm has improved power efficiency, reducing GPS tracking energy consumption by 40 percent. The Elite supports 9V quick charging, promising a 50 percent battery charge in just 10 minutes. Additionally, the new chip offers 30 percent more "days of use," translating to longer intervals between charges.

Additional Connectivity and Performance

The Snapdragon Wear Elite introduces support for satellite connectivity, 5G, ultra-wideband technology, and Bluetooth 6.0.
