In an update from the sports world, American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn has returned to the United States following a week-long stay at an Italian hospital after sustaining a fractured tibia during her participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics. Notably, Vonn resumed competitive skiing in 2024 for these Games, having previously announced her retirement. Since her crash, she has undergone four surgeries on her left leg. Prior to the accident, Vonn was already competing with a torn ACL that she had sustained during warm-ups for the race. In an Instagram post, Vonn shared, "Haven't stood on my feet in over a week... been in a hospital bed immobile since my race. And although I'm not yet able to stand, being back on home soil feels amazing."
