Arturia Unveils FX Collection v6 with Pitch Shifter-910, EFX Ambient; Intro $99,

In a significant development, Arturia has unveiled version 6 of its flagship effects suite, FX Collection, featuring two new plugins: EFX Ambient and Pitch Shifter-910. The expanded lineup introduces an Intro version, priced at $99, offering six essential effects, while the comprehensive FX Collection Pro, priced at $499, encompasses 39 effects.

The Pitch Shifter-910 emulates the iconic Eventide H910 Harmonizer from 1974, a pioneering digital pitchshifter and delay unit with a distinctive character. Arturia has successfully preserved the original's glitchy quirks, albeit with a modern twist. Pitch Shifter-910 delivers unconventional results, particularly noticeable in the higher ranges where it produces chipmunk-like vocal effects. A more contemporary mode is also available, which aims to reduce artifacts while maintaining the 910's unique characteristics.

On the other hand, EFX Ambient, Arturia's second new addition, offers an array of ambient effects, including ethereal reverbs, shimmer, resonators, glitch processing, and reverse delays. It features six distinct modes with unique characteristics, fed through a large washy reverb, along with an X/Y control for adding movement to sound.

The brand-new effects—EFX Ambient and Pitch Shifter-910—are not included in the FX Collection 6 Intro version, which instead offers Efx Motions, Efx Fragments, Mix Drums, Tape Mello-Fi, Rev Plate-140, and Delay Tape-201. This configuration provides versatility across delay, reverb, tape-like lo-fi, modulation, and granular processing. However, it lacks some saturation and mixing effects such as bus and compression found in the full FX Collection Pro.

Title: ProSoundLab FX Collection 6 Pro Expands Offering with Addition of Classic Lexicon Effects

In an expansion of its product line, ProSoundLab has introduced the FX Collection 6 Pro, incorporating iconic effects from the Lexicon 224, first launched in 1978 as Rev LX-24. The new offering includes a range of delay and reverb specialty flavors, priced at $499 for the comprehensive FX Collection 6 Pro package.

While the cost may appear steep to some, the company's growth from a 15-effect lineup in 2020 to 39 effects in 2026 has positioned the FX Collection 6 Pro as a more attractive value proposition. The collection is also garnering recognition for its high-quality effects, although it remains slightly below Arturia's V Collection of soft synths in terms of industry reputation.
